Crafty competitions

So you make stuff. Yea...you're real crafty. Think you have what it takes to win a national competition? Here are a few to check out:

Craft My Ride
Scion, a car company under the Toyota brand, is having a design competition for craft-makers called "Craft My Ride". The competition challenges craft-makers to create handmade car accessories for the Scion vehicle. The first place winner will receive a 2008 Scion xD, with the second place and third place winners receiving $1,000 and $500 respectively. The competition launched 9/10/07 and it will occur online at www.CraftMyRide.com with a submission due date of October 22, 2007. Check the website to obtain rules, instructions and to submit your design concepts.

Craft-Off
Venus Zine wants to know "are your glue guns fired up or what?" The third annual "Craft-Off Contest" is a competition pitting the craftiest in the land against one another to come up with the best, most creative, most fantabulous DIY creations imaginable … for less than $50. Winners will be chosen from the submissions received, and the best projects will be featured in the winter 2007–2008 issue of Venus Zine. Winners will receive a four-issue subscription to Venus Zine — additional prizes to be announced. Winners also will be featured in the magazine (photo and bio and all). All entries must be received by September 20, 2007. Check out www.venuszine.com for all the details.
