The Crafty Weekend: May 19-20

I know it's just Monday, but of course I'm already planning my crafty weekend! Here are some crafty happenings in Richmond this weekend:

May 19-20 Intergalatic Bead Show (this is the good one!)

Chop Suey Books
An exhibition of sculpture, drawings, and music by artist Heather Bregman. This exhibition will be on view throughout the summer, and will undergo many changes and additions throughout its stay.

May 19 Experimental Drawing Workshop
Visual Arts Center of Richmond
Learn atypical ways of creating drawings to develop surfaces and images using a variety of materials and unconventional techniques. Call (804) 353-0094 for more information.

May 19 The Importance of Fabrics in Decorating
University of Richmond
9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Fabrics can make or break any room. In this course you will learn about silks, cottons, Egyptian cottons, brocades, toile's, jacquards and numerous other fabrics. We will also explore the latest trends in fabrics. You will learn fabric weights, dye lots, and how to make various fabrics work together to produce a pleasing and professional decor to unify any room. Designer tricks of how to mix and place fabrics in your rooms will also be taught. Students will break for lunch. Lunch is not provided. Contact Stephanie Bowlin 287-6331

May 20 Blood Drive and Annual Yard sale
Seventh Day Adventist Church, Courthouse Road
12 Noon - 4:00 pm
Release the moths and dust from your buried treasures. Courthouse Road Seventh Day Adventist Church is having their annual yard sale on Sunday, May 20th. We invite you to clean out your attic and join us in selling your unwanted treasures. Virginia Blood Services will be there taking blood donations. The cost to rent a table will be $15. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Rain or shine. All proceeds will go to support the church's mission fund.
