Creative reuse

Do you repurpose items for your craft?
If so, Rockport Publishers/Quarry Books is looking for you! They are seeking submissions for 1000 Ideas for Creative Reuse, an upcoming book by Garth Johnson of ExtremeCraft.com. The book will feature items all made with recycled, upcycled, repurposed and reused items. No matter what your poison - paper and book arts, jewelry, textiles, furniture, art or miscellanea - all are encouraged to submit their work.

The deadline for submissions is January 5, 2009 and early submissions are highly encouraged. For details and more information head over to www.creativereusebook.com.

Skull-A-Thon

I just did the coolest thing. I participated in virtual trunk show on Etsy! Skull-A-Day artist Noah Scalin was at Etsy to do a Skull-A-Thon Friday morning. Etsy sellers chatted about his new book, his appearance on the Martha Stewart Show, and his skull-a-day concept while he selected items for a special Treasury. My skull pillow was included. It was great. I'm addicted to the Etsy Virtual Labs now.

Check out the Storque article about Noah - who also happens to be a fellow Richmonder.

Go RVA!

PS -
Look at the top left pic - that's the Tangled Skull Pirate Treasure Necklace from Keen. Yay!
