The Crafty Weekend: June 1 - 3

Here are some crafty haps in Richmond this weekend:

June 1 Curated Culture's First Fridays

Broad Street
Curated Culture's First Fridays focuses on the diverse art galleries and creative businesses located in the city's burgeoning Downtown Arts District. The art walk, which now features almost 20 venues and is the last of this season, takes place rain or shine.

June 1 Poetry Slam
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Richmond Public Library - Downtown
The second annual Poetry Slam, taking place in Library Park directly behind the Richmond Public Library, will pit poet against poet, competing for cash prizes.

June 1 - 3 "Lost Art" Consignment Art Sale

June 2 Vegetarian Festival Benefit

The Camel
Featuring music, bellydance and the art work of The Swap Meet. The Swap Meet is a collaborative experiment involving strangers who swap creative assignments. June 2 Saturday Market
8:30 am - 2:00 pm
17th Street Farmers' Market
Handmade and homegrown. Local crafts and produce.

June 2 Alternative Market
11:00 am - 7:00 pm
A brand new weekly market held behind AlterNatives (3320 W. Cary St.) in Carytown. Vendor space is free (set-up is at 9:30), however 20% of your sales will be donated to benefit the Mayan Arts Project. Event is rain or shine. Contact Erica or Kim for more information.
